Like APAM it is a polymer flocculant (placed in nonionic-surfactant hub by ionic character, not a classical surfactant). It flocculates suspended solids in waste liquids for clarification and dewatering, useful where ionic load is low or where a nonionic polymer is preferred for compatibility.
